Africa is a large continent with a vast diversity of wildlife. It has the highest area of land in close proximity to the Equator of all the continents, with the hottest overall climate, with a large percentage covered in desert, particularly in the north. It is particularly well-known as home to a huge variety of endemic python, antelope and zebra species.
